It Was an Experience

It was . . .

Wow. It's practically over. Those four years that are supposed to prepare you for continuing your education at a higher level. Those four years where you hopefully finish out your awkward stages. Though four years where you start off easy and then progressively challenge yourself until you feel as though you could sleep for five years straight. Those four years where you go to all the football, basketball, and spring games. Those four years where you begin at the bottom of the food chain and gradually become top of the school. Those four years where you start off making new friends, forming new circles, only to be left with a few really close friends in the end. Those nights you spent up stu(dying) for a test you get a C on or the IA that is a load of crap but had to be turned in.

43 days until graduation.

It was an experience.

And here we are, about to start a new chapter in our lives. But how new will it really be? You essentially go through the same things, just on a more intense level. You take classes are even harder. You make new friends that you study, hang out and go to parties with. You stay up until ungodly hours studying for a test that you still get a C on. You start off at the bottom of the food chain again, but hopefully for the last time. You go to football, basketball and quidditch games. You travel abroad and explore places you've dreamed about visiting, all while (hopefully) getting credit hours.

4 years until graduation.

It will be an experience.

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
When I see you again

  1. That was seriously so beautiful. Had me tearing up a bit. Julia, you've always been one of those people who's pretty quiet. But when you speak, it's always either extremely hilarious or extremely inspiring. It has been an absolute honor to know you.

  2. I completely agree with Hailey. Julia, sometimes you are reserved, but whenever you speak out in class or in a group it is either very intellectual, very funny, or both. You have a silent confidence about you that I don't see in anyone else, and you are very much proud of who you are, which is something that very few high schoolers can honestly say. It's hard to believe that this August we will have known each other for seven (!!!!) years, but I'm proud to have you as a friend (but we are not forming an alliance, I trust no one) and am so happy to see you continue your education at Carolina, the school you haven't stopped talking about for seven (!!!) years.

  3. Hey Hoolia. We've pretty much been the best friends of IB (sorry Hailey/Emily), from joking around in Spanish to me sleeping in English while you try to keep me awake. And while you say Delia is your best IB friend, your opinion is wrong. I'm better. Sorry Delia :~).

You're going to Chapel Hill next year, which is crazy, and I'll be going to hang out with the wolves. Despite my school being infinitely better in every single discernible aspect, I know you're gonna have an amazing time there and make a huge difference.

Thanks for the past two years, and I'll probably see you tomorrow and force you to read this.
